Grok Imagine Spicy Mode
Bolder AI video, without hunting through X app settings
Spicy is one of three generation modes in the Grok Imagine video generator — Normal, Fun and Spicy. It loosens style restrictions for edgier, more expressive results. On grok.com you have to enable sensitive content in your X settings first; here it is a dropdown next to the prompt box, and it runs on the same credits as everything else.
How It Works
Turn On Spicy Mode in 4 Steps
Sign In
Create an account to get your free credits. Spicy is not a separate plan — it is a generation mode in the Grok Imagine video generator.
Open the Video Generator
Go to Grok Video and select Grok Imagine as your model. Spicy is available on the Grok Imagine video model, not on the image models.
Set Mode to Spicy
Open the Mode dropdown and switch it from Normal to Spicy. No X app toggle, no sensitive-content setting to find, nothing to unlock first.
Write Your Prompt and Generate
Describe the shot as you normally would — subject, action, camera and lighting. Spicy takes the prompt further instead of toning it down.
Grok Imagine Spicy Mode Features
What Spicy Mode Changes — and What It Does Not
Fewer Style Restrictions
Spicy loosens the guardrails that make other generators refuse a bold composition. Edgier concept art, suggestive framing and more provocative scenes go through where Normal mode would soften them.
Separate Engine, Fewer Refusals
Spicy runs on a separate video engine tuned to refuse less often than Normal. It renders at 480p or 720p, a clip usually takes 2–3 minutes, and it is billed per second at its own rate.
Video, Not Images
Spicy Mode lives on the Grok Imagine video model. The image models run without it — if you want a bolder still, generate a Spicy clip and pull a frame out of it.
Native Audio Included
Spicy clips still get sound generated in the same pass — ambience, effects and dialogue are produced together with the picture.
No Setup, No Separate Plan
Nothing to unlock, no X app settings to change, no premium tier to buy first. Sign in, pick Spicy from the Mode dropdown and generate. Credits are charged per second of video and refunded automatically if a run fails.
Limits Still Apply
Spicy is not a bypass. Prompts involving real identifiable people, minors, or non-consensual content are still refused by the model’s safety filters and are prohibited by our terms.

Grok Imagine Spicy Mode FAQ
How It Works, What It Allows, and What It Costs
Spicy is one of three generation modes in the Grok Imagine video generator, alongside Normal and Fun. It runs on a separate video engine that loosens style restrictions, so you get bolder, more provocative results instead of softened ones. It keeps 480p and 720p output and native audio; it is billed at a higher per-second rate than Normal.
Here it is one step: open the video generator, select Grok Imagine as the model, and set the Mode dropdown to Spicy. On grok.com and in the X app you first have to enable sensitive content under Settings, Privacy and safety, Content you see — that is not required on this site.
There is no separate plan or upgrade — Spicy runs on the same credits as everything else. It is billed per second of video: a 6-second 480p Spicy clip costs 30 credits and a 6-second 720p clip costs 60, and the exact cost is shown before you generate. Failed runs are refunded automatically. You get free credits when you create an account, plus more from the daily check-in.
Bolder concept art, suggestive and provocative compositions, mature-themed scenes and edgier character work — the kind of brief Midjourney or DALL-E refuses outright. It will not produce explicit content of real people, and it will not generate anything involving minors.
Most uncensored generators trade quality for freedom — local Stable Diffusion forks in particular. Spicy runs on a production video model, so you keep native audio and coherent motion while getting far fewer refusals.
Yes. Spicy clips arrive with sound effects, ambience and dialogue generated in the same pass as the picture.
Normal is the default and plays a prompt straight. Fun pushes toward exaggerated, playful, meme-leaning output. Both run on the Grok Imagine model at the standard price. Spicy runs on a separate engine with fewer refusals for bolder and more provocative results, and costs more per second — the exact cost is shown before you generate.
Generating stylised adult-themed art for personal or commercial use is legal in most jurisdictions, but the rules where you live are yours to check. What is never acceptable anywhere: sexual content involving minors, non-consensual imagery, and deepfakes of real people. The model refuses those and our terms prohibit them.
Your prompt hit a hard limit rather than a style filter. The usual causes are naming a real person, wording that reads as depicting a minor, or explicit sexual description. Rephrase around mood and composition rather than the act, and drop any real names. Credits for a blocked generation are refunded automatically.
Yes — you keep the rights to what you generate. Where you can publish it is a separate question: most ad platforms and app stores restrict suggestive content, so check the destination’s policy before you build a campaign on it.
