Spicy is one of three generation modes on the Grok Imagine video model — Normal, Fun and Spicy. It loosens style restrictions for edgier, more expressive results. On grok.com you have to enable sensitive content in your X settings first; here it is a dropdown next to the prompt box, and your free credits work exactly the same way.
How It Works
Turn On Spicy Mode in 4 Steps
Sign In
Create an account to get your free credits. Spicy is not a separate plan — it is a generation mode on the Grok Imagine video model.
Open the Video Generator
Go to Grok Video and select Grok Imagine as your model. Spicy is available on the Grok Imagine video model, not on the image models.
Set Mode to Spicy
Open the Mode dropdown and switch it from Normal to Spicy. No X app toggle, no sensitive-content setting to find, nothing to unlock first.
Write Your Prompt and Generate
Describe the shot as you normally would. Spicy changes how far the model leans into the style, not how it reads your prompt.

Spicy clips still get sound generated in the same pass — ambience, effects and dialogue land on the action exactly as they do in Normal mode.

Limits Still Apply
Spicy is not a bypass. Prompts involving real identifiable people, minors, or non-consensual content are still refused, and xAI’s acceptable use policy still governs what the model will produce.
